Annual General Meeting 2006

Volunteering Highland's Annual General Meeting took place on Monday 5th June in the Town House, in Inverness.

The day began with the presentation of MV Awards by Danny Alexander and Provost Bill Smith to over fifty 18-25 year-olds who had travelled from all corners of Highland to collect their well-deserved Certificates.

The award ceremony was followed by a delightful performance by members of the F.A.L.C.O.N. Group which was enthusiastically received by all present.

When time came to get down to business matters, this year's AGM was marked by a presentation to the outgoing Chair, Malcolm Jack, following the many years of his dedicated service to Volunteering Highland.  A new Chair, Okain McLennan, was duly elected. Okain brings an equally impressive range of skills and experience to the organisation and Volunteering Highland looks forward to making good use of that.

A second presentation was made to Sandra Gorman, Senior Development Officer, on the occasion of her retirement.

The morning's events were brought to an end with a superb buffet lunch. Our thanks and appreciation to the Town House's catering staff, and to Highland Council for their support in providing the venue for this year's AGM.
