Nairn's Handyperson SchemeThe Volunteer Centre here in Nairn, offers the services of a Handyperson Scheme. The scheme is run by volunteers and provides a free repair and assistance service to vulnerable members of the community in Nairn and the surrounding area. Type of jobs undertaken: In the house: moving light furniture, fitting shelves, changing tap washers, cleaning windows, changing curtains, emulsioning and glossing rooms in house. Because of health and safety guidelines, neither roof, gas, electrical work nor carpet fitting can be carried out. In the garden: small weeding tasks, grass cutting, hedge trimming, pruning shrubs and bushes, clearing pathways, laying out plants and bulds, clearing leaves.
