Volunteers' Week Lochaber 2008
There was plenty of local publicity for Volunteers Week 2008 including some press photos of presentations of Volunteer Certificates. These were presented to volunteers at the Greenfingers Project in Claggan and also to members of Birchwood Highland. This helps to recognise the volunteering that is currently happening in Lochaber and show appreciation of the volunteers.
We also held a Volunteers Fair on Saturday 7th of June in St Andrew's Church Hall where 12 local organisations came along to raise awareness of their volunteer opportunities as well as some funds for their group. This was a good day which everyone enjoyed and where some people were able to informally find out about volunteering.

Out and About in Lochaber
What's happening in your area - let me know.
The Lochaber Volunteer Centre covers the whole of Lochaber. It has helped groups in Arisaig, Morvern, Kinlochleven, Mallaig and Roy Bridge with accessing Disclosures. I can help promote volunteering and have attended open days in Duror, Mallaig, Acharacle and Kinlochleven. We have had volunteers from all over the area and there is a strong volunteering culture throughout.
I would like to have volunteer opportunities from all over Lochaber on my opportunity books and on the website. It is surprising how many people have checked out the opportunities online. I am also happy to travel to meet groups, or volunteers.
So let me know what is happening in your area and see if I can help.
