Fresh Face at Glencoe Folk Museum

The 2011 season sees Glencoe Folk Museum opening with a new Curator. Lynsey Easton brings a wealth of experience to the museum, having worked as Curatorial Assistant in South Georgia Museum and as part of the inventory team at Abbotsford House. Lynsey is a recent graduate of the Museum and Gallery Studies course at the University of St Andrews.

She said “Glencoe Folk Museum is a fantastic little museum in a truly wonderful setting. The small team of trustees and volunteers have done a great job so far and I’m really looking forward to building on their work.”

The museum is sure to undergo lots of exciting new projects over the coming months, including new exhibitions, fundraising and cataloguing of the collections. The museum team welcome any volunteers who would like to get involved in any way.

“As part of National Volunteers Week 1 – 7th June, the museum is holding taster sessions for potential volunteers. Anyone thinking about volunteering can arrange to come along during that week to try it out and they don’t need to commit to anything. Talk to myself and other volunteers about what projects you can get involved in and what the benefits of volunteering are.”

If you are interested in getting involved, please contact the Curator on 07595507753 or email Lhe01@hotmail.co.uk
