Ur Chrann Partnership
The official launch of the Ur Chrann Partnership took place on Wednesday 14th June in the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) Building, Fairways House, and three other venues, using video link technology, and also in Wick, Fort William and Stornoway.
Due to a change in the tendering process for the New Deal contract, SCVO made a successful bid to secure this and now a very viable partnership has been formed to underpin this new contract.
SCVO, ILM Highland, Voluntary Action Training and Vounteering Highland will be working together to help people back to work, providing flexible and customised delivery of the following services:
- Training - for a specific job, a specific industry, or to enhance basic skills
- Confidence building and personal development
- Jobsearch
- Support to enter employment through a job matching service
- Work experience/placements in the public, private and voluntary sectors
- Support to help people overcome a range of personal issues
- Aftercare to ease the transition to work
The partnership will be delivering the following elements of New Deal:
New Deal 18-24
- Voluntary Sector option
- Environmental Task Force
- Full time education and training
New Deal 25+
- Intensive Activity Period
- Basic Employability Training
Mentoring
Volunteering Highland is very pleased to continue delivering the mentoring contract on the mainland covering Caithness, Sutherland, Lochaber, Ross-shire and Inverness.
