The next Big Event is on !
Due to the outstanding success of Volunteering Highland’s fair held in Dingwall in January another Big Volunteering Fair is being planned for later in the year. Local groups attending in January were delighted that so many people came in to sign up. The event was opened by Dave Thompson MSP with a speech recognising the importance of volunteers working in the community. A collective total of over 40 people came along, despite the cold wet weather and put their names forward to do voluntary work. One gentleman, explained that he would benefit from volunteering as it would get him ‘out the house’ and meet people; others explained that they were always interested in doing something but were unsure what to do. This event provided an excellent ‘one stop shop’ for information and the opportunity to meet volunteers.
