The Big Issue The Big Issue was set up in 1991 to give homeless people a chance to make an income. Vendors are homeless, ex-homeless, or may be vulnerably housed. Since the summer of 2004, Volunteering Highland has committed to supplying the Big Issue magazine to homeless persons in Highland. From Kyle of Lochalsh in the West, to Wick and Thurso in the North, Big Issue vendors are able to purchase this magazine from our Inverness office for selling on to members of the public.
