TIMEBANKING COMES TO VOLUNTEERING HIGHLAND

Time Banking is a new and exciting way for people to come together in their communities and interest groups to share their talents in a mutually beneficial way. The concept is built on the principle that for every hour a person contributes they receive the equivalent in time credits which they can exchange. Time Banking values people equally; and by being accessible to all, it is totally inclusive.

We will act as a time broker and match up members who have a particular need with members who have the particular skill or ability to fulfill that need. These exchanges of time can be activities such as taking someone's dog a walk to giving someone a lift home from the shops. Everybody's contribution is measured in the time they give. For example, one hour of legal advice is the same as one hour of sewing. Time Banking operates on the belief that everybody - young or old - has something to offer, from making supportive phone calls to neighbours to running small errands. Most importantly, everyone's time is worth the same.

We  are operating Time banks in Lochaber, Badenoch & Stathspey, Inverness and Caithness
