A Celebration of Volunteering

The Voluntary and Third sector in Highland is gearing up to show the community just how they have succeeded in helping Highland become a vibrant and diverse community.

As part of the ‘Celebration of Volunteering’ event to be held on Thursday 22nd October at the Eastgate Centre in Inverness, the Highland Council have agreed to host a Civic Dinner at the Town House.

An integral part of this will be an awards ceremony to recognise the individuals and groups that have contributed the most to their communities. The categories are -

1. Volunteer of the Year
2. Young Volunteer of the Year - under 16 yrs & 16- 25 yrs
3. Voluntary Group/Organisation of the Year
4. Outstanding contribution to the Voluntary Sector

There will be a total of 12 awards to be given out: 1 overall Volunteer of the Year (adult), 1 overall Young Volunteer of the Year (youth), 1 overall Voluntary Group/Organisation of the Year, 1 overall Outstanding contribution to the Voluntary Sector winner, with second and third runners up under each category.
