Volunteering Impact Assessment Toolkit

The Toolkit (including a CD ROM) contains clear guidance on how to carry out an impact assessment in a volunteer involving organisation but also contains a complete set of tools with which to tackle the job. Tools can be selected from the kit and are easily customised to meet the specific needs of organisations. These include

• Questionnaires for volunteers, staff, users and local residents
• Focus group guides
• Audit form
• Diary pages for volunteers

The Toolkit will enable Volunteers Managers to

• Assess the impact of volunteering on volunteers, your organisation, your service users or beneficiaries and the wider community
• Assess a wide range of impacts – from skills development of your volunteers to the economic contribution of volunteering to your organisation
• Explore positive/negative and intended/unintended impacts
• Compare results over time

Volunteer Development Scotland is licensed as the sole deliverer of the Volunteering Impact Assessment Toolkit Interactive Seminars and all other relevant materials in Scotland.

“Excellent, very practical. Using the matrix will be very useful for funding applications, as a reminder for the different ways volunteering can have an impact on various groups. ”
