Ref. 53 Support Worker LEAD Scotland
If you are interesting in helping someone reach their potential then being a LEAD volunteer could be for you. Supporting physically and/or sensory impaired adults with learning/further education,sharing a skill or interest, your help is needed. As a LEAD volunteer you will get training, support and expenses. LEAD ultimately aims to empower and support disabled adults to become independent learners and you can help achieve this.

Ref. 103 Advisors Citizens Advice Bureau
The CAB provides free and confidential advice on a huge range of topics. From Housing benefits, the law, money problems, care services, welfare rights etc. All volunteers must be able to work in a non-judgemental way. This post requires interviewing of clients, research, on going training, recording and updating case details, negotiation with outside agencies, basic administration.

Escorting users around shops or other places within the town. To provide assistance on the shuttle bus service.
Ref. 177 Befriender Victim Support
Victim Support's trained volunteers understand the practical and emotional difficulties caused by crime and provide a free, confidential and independent help. Victim Support is there to help advise victims of crime. To work with law agencies. Volunteers work 1 to 1, frequently visiting the victims in their own homes, or at other suitable locations. Advice, help and support is given for however long it is necessary. Other tasks include: answer telephone enquiries, dealing with outside agencies (ie P.F. office.) Home visits offering help with forms etc., repairs, and most importantly listening.

Ref. 180 Befriender Chilren 1st
Children 1st helps provide planned programs of support for children, young people and families who have suffered childhood abuse or neglect. The organisation provides group work, counseling and family support. Volunteers are required for often short periods of time to help clients as a befriender. This post requires interviewing of clients, research, on going training.

Driver required to pick up goods from depot and deliver to Blythswood shops in the area.

Volunteers are needed for only a few hours a week, or fortnight to help work in Blysthwoods' charity shops in Dingwall, Invergordon, Alness, Tain and Ullapool. No experience is necessary, but must enjoy meeting people.

Do you have an interest in drug or alcohol issues? Would you like to find out how you could help people with an addiction issue? Volunteer counsellors are needed to help through out Ross-shire. Full training and support will be given.
Ref. 212 Hosts Contact the Elderly
Volunteer hosts are urgently needed throughout Ross-shire. All that is required is for the host to make available their home for one afternoon each month or so for a group of 6-8 elderly people to visit and have a chat. Must have ground floor amenities.

This is a unique scheme to help you become physically and mentally healthier by taking part in nature conservation activities to improve your local environment. Activities include tree planting, woodland management, creating wildflower gardens and footpath maintenance. As well as improving your health, you can meet new people, learn new skills and become more confident. As well as having the satisfaction of knowing that you are making a positive contribution to the Highland's environment and your local community.
